Lead-acid batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries are two important power  energy . They have different characteristics in terms of battery materials, energy density, battery performance, cycle life and safety characteristics.

1. The electrodes of lead-acid batteries are mainly made of lead and its oxides. The electrolyte is a storage battery of sulfuric acid solution. The lithium iron batteries mainly use lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode material, which is suitable for power applications;

2. The energy density of lead-acid batteries is generally 40Wh/kg, and the energy density of lithium batteries is high, which can reach 240Wh/kg. lithium iron phosphate battery is over 65% lighter than the equivalent lead -acid battery,  and significantly smaller than the lead-acid equivalent.

3.  Phosphoric acid battery has wider environmental temperature adaptability than lead-acid battery, stable discharge performance, can meet the demand of large current discharge.

4. The cycle life of lead-acid batteries is about 800 times, and the cycle life of lithium iron phosphate is about 2500 times.

5. There is a large amount of lead in lead-acid batteries, which will cause pollution to the environment if they are not handled properly after being discarded. Lithium iron phosphate batteries do not contain harmful substances and will not cause pollution to the environment in the production and use process.

6.  Lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode material for lithium batteries is currently the safest positive electrode material for lithium ion batteries. Although the tap density is low and the voltage platform is low, the positive electrode material is safe and stable, which makes it squeeze, overcharge, short circuit, etc. It is still safe under conditions of abuse due to its safety and stability.

After compare analysis, lithium iron phosphate batteries have more advantages than lead-acid batteries, and have become an important development direction of lithium-ion power batteries.
